Children’s At Home: A social media website for peer support during transition for parents of adolescent cancer survivors
The project tests the feasibility in Switzerland of Children’s At Home (C@H), an online social media website, which provides peer support to parents of adolescent cancer survivors in order to facilitate children’s transition towards autonomy.
The website enables parents to share their cancer experience, problem-solving strategies and crowdsource challenges.
By bringing peer support to the parents, the project can improve their well-being, reduce their anxiety, and enhance the handing over of their responsibilities of their child’s health to their child, which can have a positive impact on their child’s autonomy and transition process.
