The long-term impact of adverse socioeconomic circumstances in early life on adult health outcomes has long been recognized, but whether social disparities in cardio-metabolic risk markers already appear in childhood and adolescence is less clear.
This project will use data from four countries with different socio-economic and welfare systems to examine the link between socioeconomic circumstances in early life and cardio-metabolic health outcomes in childhood and adolescence, and to assess the role of policies in shaping these inequalities.
