With a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and toxicology, Melanie is a board-certified veterinary pathologist with extensive experience spanning academia, research, and industry. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with a focus on small animal medicine and surgery, followed by a residency in veterinary pathology, leading to European board certification (ECVP).
Her academic development includes advanced training in cytopathology and histology, as well as a Master of Advanced Studies in Toxicology (University of Geneva), where she specialized in human toxicology and risk assessment. Complementing her scientific expertise, she has also completed training in project management and clinical research, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification.
She works as a scientific collaborator in a multidisciplinary research environment, applying her expertise to translational and public health-oriented projects. She collaborates closely with her colleagues to develop methods to quantify biomarkers of effects such as micronuclei (MN), particularly in occupationally exposed populations.
