Swiss Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Cohort Study (SIBDCS)
Les maladies inflammatoires chroniques de l'intestin (MICI ou en anglais: Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD) touchent 12'000 à 15'000 personnes en Suisse, avec un diagnostic principalement posé chez des jeunes adultes. Dans le monde, 2,5 millions de personnes souffrent de ces inflammations chroniques de l'intestin dans son ensemble (maladie de Crohn) ou seulement du gros intestin (colite ulcéreuse) - et leur nombre ne cesse d'augmenter en Suisse également. Les patientes et patients souffrent de diarrhées, de douleurs abdominales, de nausées, de saignements intestinaux et de fatigue.
La cause de ces maladies réside dans une interaction entre des facteurs environnementaux et génétiques. Dans le cadre de la “Swiss Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Cohort Study (SIBDCS)”, nous avons déjà pu, avec la participation active de plus de 100 gastroentérologues et de plus de 3000 patientes et patients, acquérir des connaissances importantes sur l'évolution de la maladie.
