Lors de chaque session, des spécialistes d’horizons divers viennent présenter l’état de leurs recherches, leurs expériences ou leurs projets.
Ces colloques, ouverts au public, s’adressent à un large public de professionnelles et professionnels de la santé. Ils sont recommandés par la Société suisse des spécialistes en prévention et santé publique (SPHD) pour la reconnaissance de la formation continue.
Where, When, and Who? Spatial, Temporal and Sociodemographic Patterns in Complementary Medicine Use and Breast Cancer Screening Participation
Most analyses of health behaviors rely on regional averages, which can mask local dynamics that are important for tailoring interventions.
Drawing on Swiss health insurance data and breast cancer screening participation in the canton of Geneva, we explore how spatial epidemiology can reveal hidden geographic patterns, unexpected gradients, and temporal shifts that aggregate statistics may miss, making a case for place-based, data-driven monitoring of health inequalities.
David De Ridder is a research fellow at the Unit of Population Epidemiology at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and a member of the Geographic Information and Analysis for Population Health (GIRAPH) research group.
He holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Liège (2015) and a Ph.D. in Spatial Epidemiology and Digital Health from the University of Geneva (2021).
As a specialist in epidemiology and health data science, his research focuses on the spatial and temporal dynamics of population health.
